Dr Robin Logie – Trainer
Dr Robin Logie is a Clinical Psychologist (registered with the Health and Care Professions Council), Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and EMDR Europe accredited Consultant and Trainer.

Robin trained as a clinical psychologist in 1983 at the University of Birmingham and obtained a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Bangor in 2005. After working in the NHS for 7 years, he started his own company, providing psychological therapy and medico-legal assessments for both adults and children.

Since training in EMDR in 1996, Robin has steadily developed his expertise in EMDR. For nine years he was at the centre of the UK’s EMDR community as Treasurer of the EMDR Association UK & Ireland and then its President for three years. During this time, he was on the steering committee for two international EMDR conferences and opened the 2014 EMDR Europe conference in Edinburgh in the presence of Francine Shapiro, the founder of EMDR.

For many years Robin has been involved in EMDR training as a supervisor of EMDR therapists. He has taught on EMDR trainings and presents at conferences, not only those specialising in EMDR but also other events such as chairing as symposium on EMDR at a British Psychological Society conference in Oxford in 2012. He regularly teaches on the EMDR Association’s own training course for EMDR Consultants.

Dr Logie has published articles on EMDR in peer reviewed journals. He is actively involved in EMDR research and is a member of a research team at Manchester University, which includes Dr Filippo Varese and Prof Richard Bentall, evaluating EMDR in the treatment of psychosis. In 2024 Robin’s book entitled EMDR Supervision. A Handbook was published by Routledge.

Robin is also involved in the use of EMDR for humanitarian purposes. Trauma Aid UK (formerly HAP UK & Ireland) provides EMDR trainings in Bosnia and the Middle East where psychological trauma services have hitherto been unavailable. Robin joined the committee of Trauma Aid UK to establish its status as a Registered Charity and is currently the Treasurer of this organisation.

Kath Norgate – Facilitator
Kath trained in Psychodrama and Dramatherapy whilst also training as a psychiatric nurse. She qualified as a registered psychiatric nurse in 1986 and obtained an Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in 1989.

Her first post was treating traumatized adolescents and young adults in an in-patient setting. She subsequently trained in CBT and Play Therapy to enable her to treat younger children. After being awarded the diploma in Play Therapy, she was invited to supervise other play therapists – one of whom made her aware of a new approach to psychotherapy – EMDR. She began EMDR basic training in 2003 and it has subsequently become her preferred treatment modality.

She became an EMDR Consultant in 2011 and offers group and individual supervision to individuals from many different professional backgrounds. She has worked as an independent practitioner since 2006 and sees children, young people and adults for all manner of psychological problems in her Chester Clinic.

Kath has been a member of the Board of the EMDR Association UK and Ireland since 2008 and is Treasurer of the Association.

Sanja Oakley – Facilitator
Sanja is a registered psychotherapist and executive coach with 20 years’ experience in both private practice and the public sector in the UK, Europe and USA. She is an EMDR Europe accredited Consultant.

Prior to becoming a psychotherapist & coach, she had a successful and rewarding career in sales &
marketing in consumer software, publishing and media. Her private practice clients include CEOs, home-makers and young people starting out in life.

Her interests are in new, fast developing effective therapies developed whilst working as a coaching & trauma specialist at London Underground. She has also worked at The Centre for Victims of Torture & War Trauma, USA and for the European Humanitarian Assistance Program in Bosnia & Herzegovina. She teaches and consults colleagues in therapy and EMDR around the world.

David Kean – EMDR Consultant
David is a BABCP Accredited Senior Cognitive Therapist and EMDR Consultant. Employed by Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, he divides his time between the Lancashire Traumatic Stress Service and the Men’s Specialist Psychology Services, Guild Lodge. He has a special interest in psychosis and is a member of a research team, based at Manchester University, studying the treatment of psychosis with EMDR.

Debra Malkin – EMDR Consultant
Debra is a BABCP Accredited Senior Cognitive Therapist and EMDR Consultant at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust. She is a senior member of Lancashire Traumatic Stress Service. She supervises EMDR therapists individually and in a number of groups. She is a member of a research team, based at Manchester University, studying the treatment of psychosis with EMDR.
